As someone who is always looking for ways to improve the quality of my financial life and to pass on the value I come across to my readers, one would correctly assume that I’d come into contact with many enticing offers for financial advancement online. Yes, I am indeed talking about the MMO (Make Money Online) industry or as some people refer to it, IM (Internet Marketing) or indeed Digital Marketing.

MMO is not the core discussion of this post though – I’m merely featuring it as a sub-topic because of its prevalence and what it inevitably leads to, which is often bitter disappointment.

Yes there are indeed people who manage to make some good money online, but unless they turn around and peddle the same garbage they bought themselves, chances are they probably didn’t realise any success through following the steps in some e-book guide or training course membership area. If you want to make money online and be able to sleep at night, you simply need to either build an online business, work online, or invest in a business model that makes sense. If the online income opportunity you’re being sold is unclear about exactly what it is you’ll be doing and exactly how you’ll be making money, it’s simply not worth your time and money. You will regret investing in it.

The MMO industry however does bring to light a very handy tool which I’ve come to use in gauging just how good of a service I’m likely to get and this method has been wildly successful for me. Basically it’s a two-step process which asks the questions of “Who is offering me the product or service?” along with “How much of a specialist is this service provider or vendor?”

Who is offering the product or service?

This is where the relationship between a service provider and the quality of the service they offer comes into play in that it’s largely something which is driven by reputation. When you’re in some legal trouble for example and you need to do everything in your power to make sure things play out in your favour, you’re going to make sure you make use of the services of a competent lawyer based on their reputation more than anything else, are you not?

This is where one would look towards those legal firms which bear the name of the founder/managing director in that they really don’t want to tarnish their personal name as represented through the company name.

What is the vendor or service provider’s level of specialisation?

To expand on the legal analogy in a bid to drive this particular point home we’ll look at specialisation from the point of view of another legal firm, Johnston Law Firm. This as a law firm which targets a specific geographic region in addition to targeting a specific arm of the legal practice, i.e. car accidents and everything around that, including personal injury, loss of the ability to earn income, etc.

This is the sort of specialisation one should look for in order to know upfront that you’re probably going to get the best possible service and it can be applied to any industry, really.
